— OUR STORY
SquishyMood started in 2019 as a two-person design studio in Los Angeles, working hand-in-hand with a small craft workshop in China to make slow-rise squishies the right way. Six years later, we still make 200 pieces at a time. We name them. We number them. We sign them.
— 2019: WHY WE STARTED
Taylor and Lin were designers in Los Angeles buying squishies for their nieces and nephews. Every single one smelled of chemicals. One made a 4-year-old break out in hives.
They started making their own. Gravity-poured, food-grade TPR, cured for 96 hours instead of the industry-standard 12.
Six months in, friends were asking for some. A year in, strangers were asking. That's when they quit their jobs.
— 2022: THE LAB REPORT
In 2022 we tightened our standard: food-grade TPR only, pH-neutral, and burst-tested to hold up to real squeezing — no lead, no phthalates.
If a batch doesn't meet that standard, we don't ship it. Simple as that.
This is the boring part of the brand. It's also the only part that matters.
"Where we grew up, squishies are
a craft with a name of their own.
We just refused to make them cheaper."

— THE TEAM
CO-FOUNDER · MATERIALS
Materials engineer trained in the US — 12 years developing food-grade TPR for consumer products. Designed all 14 of our formulas, and talks about phthalates more than anyone should.
CO-FOUNDER · DESIGN
Industrial designer trained at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. Sculpts every original shape — started with a dumpling, still her favorite.
HEAD OF EDITIONS
Character designer trained at Parsons School of Design in New York — ten years in the US toy industry. Designs every limited Edition — a new colorway each quarter.
— WHAT WE BELIEVE
01
Soft-touch TPR selected for durability, consistency, and a controlled slow rise.
02
Bigger batches mean worse quality. We'd rather sell out than ship slop.
03
We don't print a claim we can't stand behind. If we can't show it, we don't say it.
